DESCRIPTION:The Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival will be held downtown on Saturday\, May 19 from 11 am to 7 pm. This event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. \nThere will be lots of family activities including great art and jazz music\, crafts and food vendors as well as activities for kids. \nMinerva’s Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival on May 19 again offers a great lineup of professional and student bands\, playing jazz from a wide variety of genres! The schedule for the day is: 10 am – Denny Ott\, saxophone; 11 am – Minerva High School; 11:45 am – Blu Monsoon (contemporary jazz & blues); 1 pm – Northwest High School; 1:50 pm – The Furnace Street Jazz Band (straight-ahead jazz); 3:05 pm – Sandy Valley High School; 3:55 pm – Erbo and the Buzz Factor (jazz with steel drums); 5:10 pm – Beaver Local High School; and 6 pm – the Alliance Symphony Orchestra Big Band. \nThe Buckeye Woodturners will return to the Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival\, May 19 on Minerva’s N. Market Street! Watch these artists create everything from pens to tops to bowls. \nCalling all photographers! The Photography Shoot Out returns to the Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival\, May 19\, 11 am-7 pm. Cash prizes will go to the top three images in each of two age categories\, best capturing the essence of the festival.

DESCRIPTION:The Rodeo is back for another fun filled day. \nThe Minerva Chamber Rodeo will feature the Buckeye Rodeo Company presenting Bareback Bronc Riding\, Steer Wrestling\, Calf Roping\, Bull Riding\, Barrel Racing\, Saddle Bronc Riding\, and Team Roping. Kids’ events\, including Mutton Busting\, Stick Horse Racing\, and the Calf Scramble. will begin at 5 p.m.\, followed by the main event at 7 p.m. The rodeo will be followed at 9 p.m. by Tony Rio in concert on the Municipal Park Stage\, sponsored by the Minerva Firemen’s Association\, which will also be hosting a beer garden. Beginning at 3 p.m.\, there will be food and commercial vendors\, as well as kids’ activities\, in the park. Presale tickets at $10 for adults (age 12 and older) and $5 for children (age 6-11)\, and are available online through Eventbrite.com or\, begining June 1\, from the Chamber office\, 330-868-7979\, Minerva Area YMCA\, Kishman’s IGA\, and Loudon Motors Ford. Tickets at the gate will be $12 for adults and $6 for kids. Children age 5 and younger are admitted free.\nTriple Crown sponsors for this event are David Catlett Construction\, Pole Barns Direct\, Kishman’s IGA\, and Loudon Motors Ford.
